Palisades Animal Clinic is pleased to offer Class IV Laser Therapy, a drug-free, surgery-free, and pain-reducing treatment option to our client's beloved companion(s).
Laser Therapy is an FDA approved therapeutic treatment for reducing pain and inflammation, increasing circulation, and accelerating tissue regeneration or wound healing. This non-invasive therapy uses a targeted beam of light energy to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities. The increase of circulation draws water, oxygen, and nutrients to the area(s) of concern, which allows for optimal healing as inflammation, pain, stiffness, and muscle spasms are drastically reduced.
Laser treatments are cumulative. One treatment will build upon another, offering further effectiveness. Treatment duration varies in length, depending on the size and/or a number of sites that require treatment. However, most therapy sessions are completed in 4 – 8 minutes. During a laser therapy treatment, we offer your pet a comfortable blanket or foam mat, and he or she will feel a mild warming sensation in the area being treated.
While some patients may exhibit some relief after only one session, most require several treatments (3 – 8) before exhibiting a noticeable improvement. As each patient’s treatment needs differ, we create a treatment plan according to each patient’s specific needs and medical conditions.
